Bucerias is one of the most visited beach destinations of the Riviera Nayarit. It is located 40 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, between Nuevo Vallarta and the town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle.
The town of Bucerias is very charming and full of character, a short stroll through the streets of Bucerias and you’ll discover what Mexico is all about: fun, fiestas, popular markets, cobblestoned streets, brightly colored facades, and typical small pueblo vibes appealing not only to international tourists but also short or long term foreign residents.
Bucerias is situated next to a long yellow sand beach but extends to the other side of Highway 200 as well, to the northeast, although it is on the beachside where most of the action takes place. Bucerias beach is a great place to practice water sports, there you’ll frequently find water sports enthusiasts taking on activities such as kite surfing, windsurfing, and paddleboarding. Along that beach, you’ll also find a variety of casual beachfront food establishments, from where you can enjoy the sunset while you have a delicious ceviche tostada or a shrimp cocktail.
Real Estate in Bucerias is usually older, you’ll find a number of classic Mexican architecture homes for sale as well as homes or condominiums for sale at the beach, but most recently new construction is taking place. Between 2016 and 2017, experienced real estate developers started noticing an interest in Bucerias so they began to buy land for construction. By early 2019 the real estate boom was well on its way, and the Bucerias real estate inventory expanded to include new condominiums for sale, located on the beachfront or near the ocean, featuring more modern amenities and décor, at affordable prices. Currently, there are around 10 new development projects in Bucerias. Plus, at Bucerias, you can also find some impressive beachfront homes for sale, and across the highway, there are a few gated communities with single-family homes for sale.
Most Bucerias real estate can be categorized in the low to medium price range.
In recent years, Bucerias has become most popular among Canadian snowbirds looking for a more relaxed place to live during the winter months, not only because the idea of a laid back Mexican town is appealing, but also because Bucerias offers affordable real estate options, for rent or sale, and more importantly the conveniences of a small city including shopping, art galleries, fine dining, state-of-the-art health facilities, beach clubs and bars to name a few.
Among other highlights of this calm beach town are the outdoor market, where you can find cool Mexican arts and crafts; the town’s plaza, a favorite place for locals to hang out especially on Sunday afternoons; and of course the famous Zona Dorada, where you’ll find most of the high-end homes, real estate, and hotels, as well as shops, galleries, and cafés.
Only in a few places in Mexico can you find folklore and tradition with a touch of modernity, and this corner of the Riviera Nayarit is one of them. Trust the expertise of David Moreno at KW Luxury to help you find the best real estate investment opportunity for you.
